Abstract
Economic growth, as a rule, is explained by the accumulation of stocks of production factors and human capital. The effective interaction of these two factors, called productivity, partly determines the degree of economic development and technological progress. The article is aimed at research and analysis of the problems of creating high-productivity jobs in the industry of the Altai territory. Authors consider such factors as the volume of production, the state of fixed assets and labor productivity as ones determining the level of employment and the need for high-productivity jobs in the industry. In the article an assessment of the main factors limiting the growth of labor productivity and employment of the surveyed industrial sector organizations in Altai Krai is given. Also, a lack of attractiveness and prestige of labor in the industry, as well as the mechanisms of workers and engineers motivation is highlighted.
