Культурно-хронологическая локализация раковины каури у народов Западной и Южной Сибири по данным археологии и этнографии

Аннотация

Настоящее исследование является первым опытом обобщения сведений о редкой категории археологических находок, именуемых раковины каури. Интерес к ним обусловлен находкой в 1954 г. 14 образцов в пяти погребениях селькупского могильника XVI в. Пачанга. В сравнении с южной зоной Сибири данный объем мизерный, но для северной зоны он намного ценнее в научном отношении, нежели более частые и обильные находки в южных регионах, близких к центрам первичного сбора и распространения раковин. Целью работы обозначена культурно-хронологическая дислокация каури в археологическом и этнографическом пространстве Западной и Южной Сибири. Источниками послужили опубликованные артефакты из погребальных и жилищных комплексов. Судя по числу находок, каури повсеместно являлись желанным, но малодоступным сырьем для поделок, что подтверждают многочисленные имитации каури из камня и бронзы. Примерно такая же картина распространения каури складывается в этнографии. Как и в археологии, доминирующей по числу находок остается южная зона, населенная преимущественно тюркскими племенами
