Abstract. In the modern conditions of globalization, educational migration is becoming one
of the key factors in the development of the higher education system. Statistical data for the re-
cent years indicate an increase in the number of foreign students studying at Russian universities.
is indicates the increasing attractiveness of Russian education for international applicants. e
article considers the current state of educational migration processes on the basis of the annual
report of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in the form VPO-1 for
2024. e admission statistics allows us to identify trends in the migration ows of young people,
who are faced with the choice of educational strategy, corresponding to the current changes in the
sphere of education. As a result of the data analysis, the priority areas of training, which are chosen
by nonresident and foreign applicants as admission more oen than others, as well as the reasons
for this choice are highlighted.
