Tannin and anthocyanin content in Geranium maximoviczii (Buryatia)

Abstract
The article presents data on the content of tannins and anthocyanins in Geranium maximoviczii of the Geraniaceae Juss family. The aim of the work is to compare the content of phenolic compounds (tannins and anthocyanins) in the above-ground and underground organs of Geranium maximoviczii in the conditions of Buryatia. The accumulation of tannins in underground organs is greater in all samples collected from different regions of the republic from 13.22 % to 23.54 % than in aboveground organs from 10.82 % to 19.26 %. The average value is 15.80 % and 13.22 %, respectively. Tannins are more concentrated in the above-ground and underground organs of plants growing in willow thickets. The anthocyanin content is also highest in underground organs (from 0.049 % to 0.101 %) compared to aboveground organs (from 0.040 % to 0.062 %). The average value is 0.077 % and 0.049 %, respectively. Growing plants in the forest, on the edge of the forest or in willow thickets does not affect the content of anthocyanins.
