Abstract

The results of the study of biocomposite material based on poly-3-hydroxybutyrate filled with pine wood fiber obtained by pressing at 170 oC and 5000 Pa are presented. The influence of filler amount, particle size on physical and mechanical properties of composite material and its biodegradation in laboratory soil micro-ecosystem was revealed. The particle size and filler content were found to influence the strength characteristics of the composite material. The best physical and mechanical characteristics were possessed by samples with the particle size of polymer and natural filler of 20 microns and filler content of 70%. In the process of natural biodegradation there was a weight loss of 45.3 % from the initial values for 240 days.
