Abstract

The Primorsky Territory, like other regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, has been characterized in recent years by a decrease in the population size associated with both natural decline and migration outflow. Attracting foreign migrants to the Primorsky region is one of the ways to solve the problem of labor shortage. In the region, it is important to study the attitude of its inhabitants towards migrants and the migration situation. The attitude towards migrants among the inhabitants of the region is ambiguous, represented by three positions (positive attitude, indifferent and negative). The impact of migration on the situation in the region is also different. On the one hand, migration contributes to the solution of socio-demographic and economic problems in the region. On the other hand, it increases the risks of social tension, increased crime and the emergence of interethnic conflicts.
