THE AMUR RIVER IN RUSSIA AND CHINA: NAME OPTIONS

Abstract

This article analyzes various names of the Amur River in Russia and China, examines the common source of the river's name in historical materials, and determines the influence of polyethnic languages on the designation of settlements. The name of the Amur River reflects the historical, regional and national culture of the Russian Far East in Northeast China. This article attempts to analyze and study Russian and Chinese place names at different levels of language, geography, history and culture, which will help us to understand this region better.
