THE IMAGE OF THE NATION IN THE SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECT OF ETHNOCULTURAL PERCEPTION OF RUSSIA IN THE MASS CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE CHINESE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of the image of the nation in the sociological aspect of the ethnocultural perception of Russia in the mass consciousness of the Chinese. The theoretical understanding of the concept of «nation» and culture is given. Comparing with the objective existence of one's own life and cultural reality, one can get an idea of other nations. However, in this case, the natural differences of culture are usually not taken into account, and «alien» cultural phenomena are assessed as corresponding or not corresponding to the norms existing in «their» culture. The practical results of the perception of Russians as a nation in the form of an experiment aimed at identifying reactions in the mass consciousness of the Chinese to certain markers associated with the image of Russians and Russia are presented. Based on the results of the experiment, preliminary conclusions are proposed for the prevailing image and stereotypes.
