THREATS TO SOCIAL SECURITY IN THE ASSESSMENTS OF THE POPULATION OF THE BORDER REGIONS OF RUSSIA
Main Article Content
Abstract
Social security is currently the subject of research in a large number of areas of scientific knowledge. Within the framework of most theoretical approaches, social security is considered in the context of the analysis of phenomena and processes, the emergence and development of which gives rise to negative changes in the life of society, state, region, entailing grave consequences. These phenomena and processes are called threats to social security, and they especially strongly affect the unprotected segments of the population, therefore their study becomes relevant in the context of solving the problems of social protection. In this regard, the authors made an attempt to analyze the threats to social security in the assessments of the population of six border regions of Russia (n = 3339). As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that military and political threats to the population of border regions are not relevant, while economic, legal, demographic and environmental threats seem to the population quite real.
