CIVIC IDENTIFICATION OF THE POPULATION IN THE BORDER REGIONS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the specifics of civic identification of the population in the border region. Noticed that the study of civic identification, especially of border territories, is relevant in contemporary scientific discourse. The results of the research conducted by the research team of Altai State University in the Republic of Altai and Novosibirsk region (n=800, age of respondents from 18 to 55 years and older) are presented. The data obtained indicate a high level of civic identification of the population of Russia's border regions among representatives of all age groups. The main characteristics of a citizen revealed, including patriotism and love for their country, civic duty and responsibility, confidence in the economic stability of the future, compliance with the laws of their country, as well as knowledge of their rights and the ability to exercise them.
