ALTAI-KYRGYZ ETHNOGENETIC TIES AND ETHNOCULTURAL CONTACTS AS AN OBJECT OF STUDY OF THE INTERNATIONAL ETHNOGRAPHIC EXPEDITION «GREAT ALTAI»

Abstract

The publication provides basic information about the work of the International Ethnographic Expedition in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2021 and 2022. The expedition brought together Russian and Kyrgyz ethnologists who successively examined the settlements of the Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Osh regions for two seasons to study the current state of the economy and culture of the Kyrgyz. In the course of the expedition work, a high level of preservation of the system of traditional pastoral farming and related crafts and phenomena of material and spiritual culture was noted. The collected materials allow us to specify the ethnogenetic ties of the Kyrgyz with the pastoral peoples of Altai and other regions of Southern Siberia.
