Abstract

The novel by Khaled Hosseini is an ethno-cultural value, realistically describing the difficult life of the Afghan people as a whole and the life of its individual representatives, whose lives coincided with cruel political events. The role and place of a woman in the novel is clearly shown through the images of Maryam and Leyla, who had to endure beatings and humiliation. But they kept in their hearts not only pain for themselves, for their family and for the Motherland, but also a feeling of love and compassion. The novel is written expressively and vividly, it is filled with the energy of love for life, for light, for “thousands of splendid suns”
