Abstract

The study aims to compare the components of subjective well-being among schoolchildren of different nationalities in the Omsk region. A total of 498 participants were surveyed, with representatives of the largest ethnic groups being Russians, Tatars, Ukrainians, Kazakhs, and Germans, which corresponds to the ethnic composition of the population in the Omsk region. Significant differences were found in the domains of hedonic and socio-normative well-being, with the highest level observed among Tatars. The highest overall subjective well-being score was found among Russians. Compared to others, representatives of smaller ethnic communities exhibited weaker components of subjective well-being and its overall score, which may be attributed to their frustration regarding the lack of individuals with similar cultural characteristics in their immediate environment.
