LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL POTENTIAL OF HAINAN ISLAND GODONYMS

Abstract

In recent years, Russia has become very close to China, and the interest of Russians in learning Chinese has grown noticeably. In addition, the demand for travel to China has increased. According to statistics, Hainan occupies the top place in popularity among many holiday destinations. It should be noted that the construction of the free trade port has brought Hainan to a new level of openness. Preferential trade policy and unique tourist resources are extremely attractive for people from all over the world and especially for Russians. This article is devoted to the linguistic and cultural potential of the godonyms of Hainan Island. We believe that godonyms are symbols and business cards of cities that have linguistic and cultural potential, they are a “window” for tourists, allowing them to get acquainted with the cultural and historical originality of Hainan Island and understand the linguistic picture of the world of local residents. The article discusses the names of streets in Hainan province, lists the general principles of nomination and the structure of godonyms, and gives their classification. It should be noted that studying this issue can have a positive impact on students studying Chinese, will help them deepen their understanding of the culture of Hainan Island.
