BALLAD SONGS IN THE ETHNOCULTURE OF THE RUSSIAN POPULATION OF ALTAI TERRITORY

Abstract

The article reveals the issue of the modern existence of ballad songs in ethnic culture of Russian population of the Altai Territory. Presented the analysis of folk song materials of expeditionary records made by the author of the article in the period 1990-2023. The conclusion is made about the active existence of the thematic groups of the genre among the population of the region at the end of the 20th century and its gradual extinction by the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century. The need for creative work on the development of ballad songs by folklore and folk singing groups in order to preserve the genre is emphatized.
