Abstract

The article deals with the poems of the Siberian period in the work of the Kalmyk writer Alexei Balakaev (1928–1998), created during the exile of the Kalmyk people (1943–1957) and published later after returning to their homeland, when it became possible. Poems in the Kalmyk language belong to a young poet who reflected these thirteen years of his life then in his work, who created a kind of poetic diary from January 1944 to February 1957. representatives of different generations of writers, to one degree or another, recreated the tragic pages of the history of the people in poetry, prose, drama, which became available to readers in the second half of the last century.
