HEALTH-SAVING BEHAVIOR OF THE POPULATION IN ALTAI KRAI: RESULTS OF A SOCIOLOGICAL STUDY
Main Article Content
Abstract
Health is the most important value necessary to ensure demographic security of Russian regions, influenced by numerous risks associated with lifestyle, environmental and socio-economic factors. The article presents the results of a sociological survey conducted in 2023 (n = 7233). The health status of Altai Krai residents, the most common diseases and used health maintenance strategies were assessed. It is shown that with an average self-assessment of health, about one third of citizens living in Altai Krai suffer from chronic diseases, however, the level of referral to specialists is rather low. One third of the region's residents are systematically involved in sports and physical education. In conditions of poor accessibility of medical care and insufficiently high activity in the field of healthy lifestyle, the population's health tends to deteriorate, including due to objective aging processes. The identified problems indicate the need to form a comprehensive strategy for the preservation of public health, taking into account the current trends.
