MILITARY-POLITICAL COOPERATION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND TAJIKISTAN FOR ENSURING REGIONAL SECURITY

Abstract

The article examines the main threats to the security of states in the Central Asian region and the post-Soviet space as a whole. The author analyzed the influence of modern security problems of the states of the region on the development of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation, the integration processes of the two states within the framework of regional associations in the post-Soviet space in order to counter threats. The author comes to the conclusion that the military-political and military-technical areas of interaction are the highest priority areas of cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan for the entire period after the collapse of the USSR and to this day. The article also concludes that the interaction of Tajikistan with Russia, the presence of a Russian military base in the republic, the joint collective obligations of our countries to ensure regional security within the CSTO are very important deterrents in countering all possible threats in Central Asia.
