Abstract

This article investigates and analyzes semantic features and the translation peculiarities of the ritual - song "koshok" (lamentation) from Kyrgyz into Russian and English languages. Comparative description of different languages is traditionally concerned only with systemic relations at vocabulary, phraseology, and grammar levels. The 'koshok'(lamentation) genre belongs to the archaic examples of Kyrgyz folklore. The difference is in the semantic structure of the word, in its use and compatibility.
