SPECIFICS OF THE IMAGE OF A MIGRANT IN THE PERCEPTIONS OF YOUNG PEOPLE

Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of the image of a migrant in the perception of young people (on the example of the Orel region). The author pays special attention to the study of negative and positive characteristics of newcomers. The article presents the results of the study of the local population's perception of migrants. The research was conducted within the framework of the work of the laboratory of migration and interethnic conflicts of the Training and Research Center for Conflict Resolution, functioning in the Law Institute at the Oryol State University named after I.S. Turgenev. The author of the article focuses on the fact that in Russia at this point in time the attitude towards migrants can be characterized as mostly negative or, at best, indifferent rather than positive.
