Urbanflora of Ulan-Ude city – updating of floristic data

Abstract

The article presents information on updating floristic materials on the distribution of vascular plants in the urban flora of Ulan-Ude using the portals GBIF.org (and the associated iNaturalist Research-grade Observation) (iNaturalist contributors, 2025) and literary data for the period 2010–2024. During this time, the urban flora was replenished with 74 species of vascular plants belonging to 58 genera and 26 families, which is 11.5 % of the total flora of 2010. Six species in vascular plants list have been corrected, since they were identified erroneously, and 7 species were completely excluded, since they have not been recorded in the city for 14 years. The replenishment of the urban flora occurred both due to alien species (47.2 % 35 species) and due to previously undetected native plants (52.2 % 39 species). The degree of adventitization of urban flora has increased by 3.6 % compared to 2010, and currently amounts to 15.6 %, that is still almost two times lower than in other Russian cities. The representativeness of urban flora using the online portals Gbif.org (associated with iNaturalist Research-grade Observation) and iNaturalist.org at the present stage is more than 54 %, and with their help certain conclusions were made and data on the distribution of plant species in three districts of the city were verified.
