Abstract

The article deals with Southern bean mosaic virus (SBMV), with special emphasis on phytosanitary risk for soybean exports from the Russian Federation. The main objective of the work is to develop a highly sensitive method of SBMV identification. In the course of the study, the literature data on biological and molecular-genetic characteristics of the pathogenic virus, as well as on the method of its detection and identification were summarized, previously developed primer systems were evaluated, and as a result, own primers for the target pathogen were created. The results obtained may contribute to the improvement of diagnostics and control of virus spread, which is important for agriculture and export potential of soybean in Russia.
