FACTORS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF BORDER REGIONS OF RUSSIA
Abstract
Features of border regions of Russia are considered in the article. The factors of their economic development on the basis of interaction with the northeast regions of China are identified. It was noted that a significant prospect of cooperation between Russia and China — the development of tourism, including in the border areas, involving the resources of the northern seas. For border regions, tourism business is both travel companies and a network of service organizations in the sphere of hotel business, catering, entertainment, etc. Traditionally, cross-border trade remains, the economic effect of which for some countries is connected with the expansion of commodity markets for goods and services, for others — with obtaining cheaper goods and services. Goods flows contribute to the development of logistics services, which also becomes a factor in the economic development of the border region. One of the most common practices of cross-border cooperation between China and neighboring countries is the zone of cross-border economic cooperation. The advantages, factors of economic development and threats of expanding cooperation of border regions with neighboring states are highlighted.Downloads
