DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS AND MODERN PROBLEMS OF COOPERATION OF SCO MEMBER STATES
Abstract
The article deals with the grounds for the emergence and development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (the transformation of the Shanghai Five into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with the subsequent entry of two more countries into it), the goals of its establishment and the long-term strategy; in general terms, the interests pursued by the participating countries while in the SCO are considered; the topic of economic interference in the activities of the SCO, its objectives (for example, the development of the Free Trade Zone), touched upon the problems that arose in the way of the implementation of the FTA project, the reasons why this project has not been implemented so far; disclosure of the problem of the presence of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, for example, the implementation of one of the principles of the SCO — the main openness and the resulting contradictions between the member countries of the organization, namely between Russia and China, as well as the problem of the entry of new member countries and the resulting consequences in the form of threats to the SCO’s original intent. The conclusion discusses the prospects for the development of the SCO and compares it with the vector that was set when the organization was created.Downloads
