INTEGRATED AGRO-INDUSTRIAL FORMATIONS AS A BASIS OF THE AGRARIAN ECONOMY OF THE ALTAI KRAI: ARE THE PREREQUISITES FORMED?
Abstract
The emergence and development of large integrated groups in the Russian agro-industrial complex is a natural reflection of global trends. In the face of fierce competition in the market of agricultural products and food large integrated structures, taking advantage of specialization, concentration and co-operation, can achieve a high level of marketability and profitability of production in a short period. The experience of the functioning of agricultural holdings in the agrarian economy of the Altai Krai is described. Authors note that in the agroindustrial complex of Russia corporate (property) integration is developed, and in other countries — contractual one. Based on the data of financial reports the differences in investment behavior of enterprises in the Altai Krai, belonging to the agricultural holdings and companies, are analyzed. We show that the growth of the debt load of the integrated structures participants resulted in the bankruptcy of some regional agricultural holdings, which were of significant importance in the volume of agricultural production in the region. Justifying the prospects for the development of the agricultural holdings, the negative social effects of further alienation of workers from direct decision-making should be taken into account.
