VALUE AND MOTIVATIONAL GUIDANCE IN THE CONTEXT OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL IMAGE OF THE PROJECT TEAM LEAD
УДК 005.32: 159.947
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of value guidelines that prevail among project team leaders, as well as their motivational dominance in the context of management activities.
In the process of managing a team, a manager forms his professional «I-concept», which, in turn, serves as the foundation for making career decisions, reflecting the individual's desire for growth, achievements in work and development of himself as a professional.
Of course, it is worth taking into account socialization, during which career orientations and adaptive processes to the environment manifest themselves in the life of a manager as an individual.
The authors, using the test methodology «Career Anchors» by Edgar Schein, analyze the leading career orientations of managers whose activities are carried out in various areas of the economy of the Altai Territory.
Based on the respondents' responses to diagnostic scales of E. Schein's test, the authors compiled a pool of managers’ leading values and drew a parallel with their management style, thereby identifying the degree of influence of the leading categories.
Regarding the motivation of project team leaders, this technique is able to show as a result what exactly motivates the manager when carrying out his activities.
