DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN

Abstract
In foreign countries, small and medium-sized entrepreneurship perform economic functions, first of all, promoting innovative development, in particular, developing and introducing new production technologies. Innovation is one of the main factors in obtaining competitive advantages at the micro, meso and macro levels. In addition to economic functions, small and medium-sized businesses provide a high share of employment to the population. For example, in the United States, more than half of the economically active population is employed in the small and medium-sized business sector.The number of small and medium-sized entrepreneurships in the Russian Federation as of 01/01/2024 amounted to more than 6 million units, but when comparing this indicator with the population, the Russian Federation lags behind Germany, France, Finland by 30–40%, from the USA, Czech Republic — 2 or more times.In the article is based on conducted in municipalities of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the features of the functioning of small and medium-sized entrepreneurships are identified, the emerging trends and prospects for further development and expansion of activities are identified, and the most popular government support measures among SMEs are identified.The results obtained can be used by regional executive authorities in the formation of strategic planning documents.
