RISK AS A PHENOMENON OF SOCIAL REALITY IN THE BORDER REGIONS OF RUSSIA

Abstract

The article discusses the origin of the concept of «risk», as well as the variety of definitions of risk, depending on the field of research. In earlier interpretations of scientists, this concept meant courage, courage, determination, enterprise. More recent work by scientists in various fields of knowledge shows that the bearer of risk is not a risk-taking person, but a natural and social reality. Risks are no longer under the control of a person, they no longer depend on courage and carelessness. Now all social groups and categories are exposed to risks, they destroy the foundations of life and carry the threat of self-destruction of society. The article discusses the main factors that affect social risks. As the main ones, there are three main groups: natural, anthropogenic and social factors.
