MODERN APPROACH IN SOCIOLOGY TO THE CONCEPT OF "SELF-UNDERSTANDING"

Abstract

In this article, the results of research are presented, which are important from new positions for revealing the problem of self-understanding of personality. Empirical-experimental data confirm that living in the ethnocultural conditions of a young sovereign state has a similar influence on the development of self-understanding of personal and social identity both among representatives of the titular ethnicity of Kyrgyzstan and among other major ethnic groups living in modern Kyrgyzstan, as well as that the Ideal-Self and positive attitude towards other groups play a central role in the formation of Self-Identity. On the other hand, issues of xenophobia-xenophilia, belief control should be taken into account in the development of self-understanding of personal and social identity among representatives of other peoples living in Kyrgyzstan. Without finding a balance between the Ideal-Self and the Real-Self, xenophobia-xenophilia, the process of forming a balanced Self-Identity can be extremely difficult for representatives of other peoples living in Kyrgyzstan, which inevitably leads to ethnic conflicts and clashes on a national basis.
