Abstract

Green waste from greenhouse production of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) contains various metabolites, including flavonoids from the group of C,O-glycosylflavones, which have biological activity. The present work presents the results of the development of a method for extraction of flavonoids from C. sativus herb using deep eutectic solvents (DES), among which the most effective was a mixture of choline chloride - dipropylene glycol - water. The optimal conditions of ultrasonic influence, DES composition, raw material:extractant ratio and other parameters on the efficiency of flavonoids extraction from plant raw materials were determined. After solid-phase extraction on Amberlite XAD-2 macroporous resin, the sum of flavonoids containing various C,O-glycosylflavones with a total content of 876.07 mg/g was obtained. This study was the first to demonstrate the efficiency of DES for the extraction of flavonoids from green wastes of C. sativus.
