FEATURES AND PROBLEMS OF SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE ECONOMIC PERIPHERY OF THE ALTAI TERRITORY

Small and medium-sized enterprises are of key importance in the socio-economic development of the districts of the Altai Territory. Compared with large enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses have an undeniable advantage. Small businesses are mobile and able not only to adapt to consumer preferences, but also to change in accordance with the conditions dictated by the environment. Medium-sized businesses create jobs, promote healthy competitive relations the development of in the economy and, like small businesses, influence changes in the structure of gross domestic product, respectively regionally, as well as the rate of economic growth.
The article examines the indicators of the number of small and medium-sized businesses, the dynamics of the population of the districts of the far periphery of the Altai Territory.
The purpose of the study is to identify the main problems of small and medium-sized businesses in the far periphery of the Altai Territory, to propose possible methods for solving these problems.
