Abstract

The development of the regional labor market and employment sphere is of great importance in improving the quality of life and welfare growth. Ensures the availability of qualified personnel with experience and knowledge in these spheres. Historically, the Kirov Oblast demonstrates a relatively stable level of employment of the population, which indicates the stability of the labor market. Active development of small and medium-sized businesses contributes to the creation of new jobs and diversification of the labor market. Attracting investments to the region will allow to create new enterprises and increase the demand for labor resources. The development of cooperation with other subjects of the Russian Federation will allow sharing experience, attracting investment and labor resources. The enterprises of these industries are the “growth points” of the region, provide the inflow of qualified personnel, contribute to the renewal of the labor market, allow to exchange experience with other regions of the country. Consideration of the dynamics of the Kirov Oblast regional labor market development in the context of the regions of the Volga Federal District allowed us to conduct a comparative analysis, identify key challenges and define new opportunities in the field of employment.
