A SYSTEMIC APPROACH TO RISK MANAGEMENT IN THE PROCESS OF SCALING UP PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES
УДК 330.131.7:658.5
Abstract
The issue of risk management during the scaling of production activities remains insufficiently structured: as enterprises expand, risks are often assessed in isolation, without regard to their systemic interdependencies. This results in managerial and operational distortions, particularly during phases of rapid growth. The aim of this article is to examine current conceptualizations of a systemic approach within this context and to formulate the author’s original recommendations for its practical implementation. The relevance of the topic stems from the urgent need to rethink risk management tools in an era marked by technological complexity and the multilayered interdependence of internal and external factors. Contradictions identified in the literature primarily relate to the tendency to oversimplify management actions into linear models that disregard nonlinear effects, as well as to the underestimation of the organizational environment and the strategic architecture of economic actors. The article concludes that only a systemic approach makes it possible to construct an integrated risk management framework in which risks are viewed as properties of the entire production system, rather than as a mere sum of isolated threats. The findings will be of interest to company executives, corporate strategy developers, and project management professionals.
