DIGITAL CIVILIZATION AS A THREAT TO CULTURE AND EDUCATION (REFLECTION ON THE BOOK)

Abstract

The article is a response to the book "The Fate of Intelligence and the Mission of Reason: Philosophy facing the Challenges of the Digitalization Era", written by Doctors of Philosophy Alekseyev Alexander Petrovich and Alekseeva Irina Yurievna. Solidarity is expressed with the main idea of the authors of the monograph that the development of artificial intelligence is a challenge to humanity and requires people to make even greater efforts to develop their own minds in order not to fall under the influence of large-scale virtual reality and not become the object of disinformation and multifaceted manipulation. The article also discusses the idea expressed by A.P. and I.Y. Alekseevs with reference to relevant documents that the digital revolution is being imposed on society by the ruling "elites" in order to alienate the mind from a person, for which the corresponding reforms in Russian education have been carried out for more than 20 years. It is emphasized that only a high-quality humanitarian education with a thorough philosophical preparation is able to withstand these threat.
