Dynamic Aspect of Tver Merchant Mikhail Tyulpin’s Picture of the World (based on “The Chronicle of Events in Tver of 1762-1823”)

Abstract

The article dwells upon the linguosemiotic means of verbalization of the concept of «movement» which is a part of the conceptual sphere of the manuscript The Chronicle of events in Tver of 1762-1823 by a Tver merchant Mikhail Tyulpin. The reference to the conceptual sphere of the Tver merchant's diary is determined by the significance of a handwritten document to describe the cultural space of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, considering the linguistic aspect. The concept of «movement» - one of the key concepts in the conceptual sphere of the manuscript - reflects the features of the dynamic picture of the world of Mikhail Tyulpin as a resident of the city of Tver and as a representative of the merchant class of the late 18th - early 19th century. The conceptual analysis, conducted by the author of the article, recreates a fragment of the individual picture of the world. Some conclusions about the features of Mikhail Tyulpin's language personality are made. The results of the study reveals the peculiarities of the author's comprehension of the The Chronicle of events in Tver of 1762-1823 conceptual categories related to a person's awareness of his cultural traditions, ethnic identity, social activities and other components of human existence.
