Abstract

The main trends in the development of the XXI century find their manifestation in the coexistence of two opposite and interdependent directions of human movement: globalization as the mark of contemporary era and identification processes that are experienced by almost all regions of the world and individual peoples and states, in particular. In this regard, it is interesting to analyze the situation in Central Asia, which is an organic part of the Eurasian space, primarily from a philosophical point of view. In this consideration, the concept of regional identity is important: how developed it is in modern Central Asia. In the present, the states of Central Asia are living their third decade of sovereign development. At the same time, until now, the regional identity of this region has been determined by external players. There are both objective and subjective reasons for this. At the same time, this situation in the region is testing states' strength, revealing a certain dissonance between the presented concepts and real identification processes.
