THE STATE AND ETHNIC COMMUNITIES
Main Article Content
Abstract
Maintaining the integrity of the nation largely depends on the efficiency of incorporation into the composition of local ethnic communities. In this article, a nation and ethnos are considered as communities of different genesis in which an individual is simultaneously in the process of his life activity. The fundamental differences in the nature of an ethnos and a nation are indicated by the presence of two groups of theories studying the data of a community: constructivism (with instrumentalism) and primordialism. This phenomenon is indicated by the poly-ethnicity of the states that existed from Ancient times to modern times. It also confirms the fact that ethnicity can be divided between different states and, accordingly, belong to different political nations. The effectiveness of maintaining the integrity of the nation is ensured by the integration of ethnic elites into national elites.
