Abstract

The article analyses conflictological literacy among the Region’s Population in the Altai Krai, one of the major regions of Siberia, and argues for the need for regional conflict management. The author presents data from empirical research conducted in the Altai Krai. The survey showed a high degree of civic illiteracy in the field of conflict resolution: the majority of the respondents were insufficiently informed about the methods of conflict resolution, and did not believe in the possibility of constructive conflict management. The author formulates topical problems that must be addressed for the effective resolution of social conflicts in modern Russian society, including conflicts at the regional level.
