Аннотация

Статья посвящена такой категории керамического инвентаря ирменской культурно-исторической общности юга Западной Сибири, как кувшины. Выявлено, что этот тип посуды изготавливался ирменским населением достаточно редко. Сравнительный анализ распространения кувшинов на различных территориях показал более частое их использование населением северо-восточной части ирменского мира, сформировавшейся на основе ранее существовавшей здесь еловской культуры. Особое внимание в проведенном исследовании обращено на контекст нахождения кувшинов в пределах поселений и курганных могильников. Было показано, что сосуды данного типа в ряде случаев не являлись сломанной и выброшенной посудой. Они размещались часто по несколько экземпляров совместно и в специально отведенных местах, играя, очевидно, определенную роль в обрядовой практике. Своеобразие сосудов данного типа проявлялось и в специфической орнаментации, свидетельствующей об особом их предназначении.
