FRAGMENT OF THE CHINESE MIRROR FROM SHAGIRSKY YURTAS IN THE BARABINSK FOREST-STEPPE
Abstract
The article concerns a large fragment of the metal mirror found in the spring of 2014 on the bank of the lake Chemodan at the village Shagir of the Baraba Area of Novosibirsk region (Russia). By means of a X-ray fluorescent spectrometer a copper and lead-tin alloy of the subject is established. Search of analogies wasn’t successful. Authors didn’t manage to record a similar copy yet. Only on several signs the artifact is previously correlated to the existence period of Tan dynasty in China. Long time from the territory of the Baraba forest-steppe only single finds of metal mirrors or their fragments which it is possible to call Chinese were known. However a series of such artifacts is already found lately. Their detailed studying, and also mapping will allow to receive essential information of the cultural and historical plan. In particular, it is possible to establish localization of a southern taiga edge which in the territory of Baraba was repeatedly displaced. Synthesis of data on the metal mirrors of the Middle Ages found in the territory of Western Siberia will become the perspective direction of further researches. In this plan it is important to carry out the complex analysis of all finds according to the uniform program.
