Abstract
Suffering appears as a phenomenon of human existence and as a code. In the first case, we can talk about the spiritual and spiritual sublimations of human suffering, in the second - about the socio-cultural content of suffering. The article focuses on identifying the essence of suffering as an experience, while exploring the inclusion of suffering in the social and existential experience of the subject. This approach makes it possible to expand the interpretation of suffering, but at the same time to present its potential for study in the framework of medical anthropology. It is concluded that suffering as a human experience has limits determined by other forms or facets of the subject's experience. In this case, the interiorization perspective of the proposed study is important.
