Abstract
The relevance of the study is due to the presence in the last decade of a high and ultra-high level of completed suicides in the border regions, which is one third higher than the Russian average. Scientific problems are caused by the absence in the modern Russian society of a sound social control system for this deviation. It is concluded that the increase in the likelihood of suicide depends on the components of social welfare, the realization of which is highly significant on the one hand, and on the other hand it is deprived of a unique combination of objective conditions and subjective dispositions for each region and social subject.
