GEOGRAPHICAL PROFILE AS A TACTICS OF SEARCHING FOR POTENTIAL TERRORISTS IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF MIGRANTS

Abstract

Crime prevention plays a huge role in law enforcement activities of the state. A crime is much easier to prevent than to fight further with the consequences of its commission. A special place is occupied by the crime of a terrorist nature. It has become a global threat in the modern conditions of the world community. Countering this crime is complicated by the problem of migration. Associated with a series of ongoing military conflicts in the Middle East, migration creates fertile ground for the growth of crime of extremist and terrorist orientation. For the Russian Federation, since the collapse of the USSR, migration from the Central Asian republics is of particular importance. These republics often accept on their territory members of terrorist organizations, which then enter the territory of Russia. The article is devoted to a promising method of searching for potential terrorists among migrants. Geographic profiling allows you to make the preventive search for potential terrorists and extremists more targeted.
