Abstract

The paper presents new data on the species diversity and distribution of some species of several families of plants in Mongolia. The material was collected during expeditions of the summer 2015 and is stored in the herbarium ALTB.

We registered the rare endemic species of Altai, Potentilla gobica Soják during spring research of mountain part of Jungar Gobi, Western Mongolia (Kobdo Aimag, Altai Somon, north-western slopes of Ich-Havtag-Uul ridge, 4 km south of the outpost Zeegiyn, tract ‘Yargaytyn sair’, rocky steppe slopes of gorges and gravelly bottoms intermittent streams with thickets of juniper, honeysuckle, spirea, and roses). P. desertorum Bunge is the closest species to P. gobica and it is virtually absent in the mountain belt of Ich-Havtag-Uul but often was found some lower. Since almost half of the territory of Ich-Havtag-Uul is located in China, the finding of P. gobica in the flora of this region is quite expected.

Key words: flora, western Mongolia, new taxa, new findings.
