THE STUDY OF THE CITIZEN ACTIVISM OF YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN RURAL AREAS IN THE ALTAI TERRITORY (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE OPINION POLL)

Abstract

This article presents the results of the opinion poll conducted among young people living in rural areas of the Altai Territory in 2015. The aim of the research was to study the citizen activism of the rural youth. In recent years, there has been an increase in protest activity in Russian cities, expansion in the number of political parties according to new amendments to the electoral legislation. The pressing issue is the study of the manifestation of these processes in rural areas. As a result of the conducted research, the hypothesis about the activation of protest moods and high political activity based on the socio-economic factor was not confirmed. The above mentioned conclusion is supported by the respondents’ answers to direct, open, as well as indirect questions. Thus, there is no need for authorities to take additional measures and review their policy in relation to youth.
