Abstract
The article deals with the migration situation that arose after the collapse of the USSR. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the goals and main directions of managing the migration situation within the CIS. The influence of migration flows from the CIS countries on the formation of the migration policy of the Russian Federation at the present stage and its contradiction is described.
