In 2018, the department of recreational geography, tourism and regional marketing of the Altai State University (AltSU), which graduates in the areas of preparation Tourism, Service, Hotel business has turned 25 years old. The article discusses the stages of development of professional tourism education in Altai State University in the period since 1993 until the mid-2000 s.
