Аннотация

В 1954 г. в двух южно-сибирских регионах начались масштабные раскопки больших курганов археологическими экспедициями под руководством С.И. Руденко и С.В. Киселева. Автор этой статьи с одинаковым глубоким уважением относится к научным работам этих выдающихся российских археологов. В статье рассмотрена история экспедиционных работ и научных исследований двух археологов в 1954–1962 гг., принадлежавших к различным научным школам, разного возраста и живших в разных городах. При раскопках Большого Салбыкского кургана в Хакасии С.В. Киселев больше внимания уделил изучению наземной конструкции этого объекта, но не успел полностью опубликовать результаты своих работ. С.И. Руденко лишь частично раскопал каменные насыпи большого и среднего Туэктинских курганов, но основное внимание уделил погребальной камере и находкам предметов, а также полностью опубликовал результаты своих исследований. У каждого из этих археологов были свои достижения, их открытия и находки вошли в фонды науки, музеев и археологической литературы.
