ABOUT ONE OF THE DESIGN AND DECORATION FEATURES OF THE SEIMINSKO-TURBISKI SPEARS OF THE MIDDLE IRTYSH REGION
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of one of the details of paired Seimin-Turbine spears with an automorphic decor from the Sedelnikovsky district of the Omsk region of the Russian Federation. The aim of the work is to clarify the degree of interaction between the design and decoration on the example of Seiminsko-Turbinsky bronzes, as a reflection of the unity of design and decoration of such objects. The openness of the question of interpreting the forked element on the blades of these spears as an image of the beard of the sun-headed Janus-like characters allows us to suggest the presence of such an element in the Okunev pictorial tradition. The decoration and narrow blades of the spears allow these items to be attributed to the attributes of the population group of a sufficiently high social status. In turn, the beard for the Bronze Age is clearly included in the circle of insignia of power, where there is also a macehead and a staff. The presence of anthropomorphic, bearded images on the spears, as attributes of the elitists of the Seimin-Turbin clans, could further emphasize their special position.
