Abstract

The article focuses on the concept of the semantics of suffering. At the same time, the reasoning is based on the experience of medical anthropology and socio-cultural analysis of human health issues. As established, the semantics of suffering refers to the existential experience of a person. This perspective of research makes it possible to identify the connection of suffering with various hypostases and states of the subject. The theme of suffering correlates with the concept of a suffering person. Objectification of such a concept is seen not only in the experience of being, emotional and sensory reflection, but also in the objective perception of one's own health or ill health. Some variants of the objectification of suffering in modern science at the interdisciplinary level are considered. It is concluded that the semantics of suffering reveals the essence of this phenomenon through the prism of the existential and social meanings of human individual and collective existence
